Noah Beyene | Making an Impression

The Bridge Gallery is delighted to present Making an Impression, the first solo exhibition of painter Noah Beyene (Sweden, 1993) at the gallery.

In this new series of paintings, Noah Beyene sinks his face and body into the snow of northern Sweden, leaving behind temporary impressions that question how one inscribes, or is denied, a place within culturally defined landscapes. Born in Stockholm to a Swedish mother and an Ethiopian father, Beyene examines the invisible frameworks shaping national canons and the narratives that determine who is included and who is excluded. His gestures in the snow reflect a broader inquiry into how culture is created, how ideas shape our understanding of the world, and how identities are negotiated within inherited structures.
